DIY MATERIAL LAB

Your material plan

Enter your measurements to build a material plan.

The planner clips a rectangular panel grid to the clear area after edge margins. It supports straight rows and half-offset alternate rows, plus a 90-degree orientation change. Each clipped panel is a placement piece; the quantity is not a stock-sheet packing result. Openings and arbitrary room polygons are not supported. Use the drawing to identify edge cuts.

Worked reference example

Illustrative inputs in metres and SI units; the price is an example entered by the user, not a market quotation. Numeric reference verified by the automated test suite.

Calculation method

(x, y, w, h) ∩ (W − 2e, H − 2e)

Measure. Calculate. Build.

  1. Use actual dimensions and split complex rooms into rectangles.
  2. Allow for cuts, joints and package sizes. Compare stock formats.
  3. Combine your results in a shopping list you can save and print.
